Georeferencing takes an image and gives it map coordinates
the image could be a map, picture, or anything else you might want to overlay on a map
try to remember the difference between geocoding and georeferencing
Georeferencing with QGIS
find landmarks easily discerned in both your image and the reference map
try to just pin down the corners of the image onto the map—start with 4 points
we'll talk more about modeling next time
